Teletherapy

Unfortunately, I had to give up my beautiful office space a while ago to do my part to protect clients and family during the COVID-19 crisis. Therefore, all my sessions until further notice are via Teletherapy, and all sessions are confidential and done over ZOOM’s secure HIPPA-compliant video therapy platform.

Teletherapy… What’s that and how do I use it?

Teletherapy is therapy via video on a computer or cell phone and is something that has primarily developed out of response to the COVID-19 crisis.

It is an effective way to have therapy sessions. Instead of having to travel to someone’s office, you can stay in the comfort of your own home and have your sessions via Zoom on your computer or over the phone, whichever you prefer.

How Does It Work?

It’s actually a very simple process. If you’re having a therapy session via Zoom.com, I will send you an email invitation for the session 5-10 minutes before our appointment time. Once you receive the email, you will open it and click on the link provided. And then I will invite you into the session.

Can I use my cell phone for online sessions?

Yes, you can, but some cell phones tend to heat up and run out of charge if they are not fully charged prior to our hour session or you have a charger on hand during the session.

The Benefits of Teletherapy

  • From the comfort of your own home
  • Or from your private office
  • No stress trying to get to the appointment on time
  • No traveling – no rush hour traffic
  • No worry about snow or snowstorms

What if I live too far or can’t make it into your office when you get one?

No problem. That’s why Teletherapy is perfect for you. As a therapist, I can see anybody in New York State because that’s where my license is. So, you can see me with no problem even if you lived in Buffalo or New York City, etc.

As a Transformation Coach, I can work with anybody in the world because there are no such restrictions. With Teletherapy it doesn’t matter where you live if you have a computer or a telephone.

Is Teletherapy as effective as in-person?

I find that it is even more effective in some ways. Both client and practitioner seem to be more relaxed and able to focus more on the work of therapy. Why that is I’m not sure, but I’ve been a therapist for more than 25 years, and I experience it as being much better in a lot of ways.
